Burton, Alan: - Throughout his thirty-year writing career, Alan Burton has been honored by such organizations as the Associated Press, Texas School Public Relations Association, and Oklahoma College Public Relations Association. A native of Sherman, Texas, Burton is the author of six books. He has thirty-three years of media/communications experience, and has served in various capacities in the field of educational public relations for the past twenty-seven years. Burton is a 1979 graduate of Texas Tech University, where he earned a bachelor of arts in English. He currently serves as special assistant to the president/director of university communications at Southeastern Oklahoma State University.
